Namibia Light Tackle Boat Freshwater Angling is a powerboat based, individual participation sport in which competitors fish (mostly with organic lures) for a variety of species. Only light tackle fishing line (maximum 4kg breaking strain) is allowed for all species. The aim is to catch five (5) fish of each species, with the heaviest five (5) per species being weighed, during the allocated tournament time. Individual species are allocated factors, based on the difficulty to catch the individual species. Weight is multiplied by factor to determine the best angler of the day. Catch-and-release practices are strongly enforced.
